Man who dumped body of family dog in street demoted at top JHB law firm

Sandton-based law firm Bowman Gilfillan says Adam Anderson has agreed to step down from his management role as Head of Litigation.

Anderson was caught on camera dumping his dead family dog on the side of street in a Johannesburg suburb earlier this month.

He has also been placed on special leave to allow him time to deal with the consequences of his actions.

Bowman Gilfillan said in a statement that his behaviour was not reflective of the firm's culture and values. Initially, the company had claimed the incident was a personal matter.

Meanwhile, the SPCA is pursuing illegal dumping charges.
