Following former Springbok and SuperSport analyst, Ashwin Willemse's walk out of a live broadcast following the Lions 42-24 victory over the Brumbies on 19 May, SuperSport and MultiChoice investigated the incident.
At the time, Willemse's comments indicated a racial dispute between him and the two other presenters, Nick Mallet and Naas Botha.
SuperSport CEO Gideon Khobane says Advocate Vincent Maleka has found that there was no racism involved in Ashwin Willemse walking out from an on-air broadcast.
Multichoice CEO Calvo Mawela and Khobane addressed the media on Tuesday.
SuperSport appointed Advocate Vincent Maleka SC, to review the allegations fully and objectively, after initial attempts to resolve the issue amicably and expeditiously by way of discussions with the presenters involved, did not resolve the issue.
Mawela says Willemse's contract has not been terminated. And Willemse's reasons for not participating in the investigations was that he didn’t believe this was the right forum to voice his concerns
