Saica says Anoj Singh has brought accountancy into disrepute

The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants’ (Saica) has charged former Eskom CFO Anoj Singh with misconduct following an extensive investigation.

The institute says Singh failed to adhere to the fundamental principles in the professional code of conduct for chartered accountants.

Saica says Singh failed to disclose to the Eskom board the true reason for Gupta-owned Tegeta's request for a R600 million pre-payment from the power utility.

Eyewitness News reporter Gia Nicolaides has more on the story.

The institute is saying that when it comes to his professional behavior, he is now going to have to face charges of misconduct. They go through a number of points - basically bringing the accountancy profession into disrepute.
