NHI Bill 'a missed opportunity' - Rural Health Advocacy Project

A missed opportunity.

That's the claim being leveled at Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi by the Rural Health Advocacy Project following the announcement of plans to shake-up the healthcare system.

Calling into the 702 Breakfast Show on Friday, Programme Manager, Russell Rensburg, asked the Minister about the number of provinces which have placed under administration recently.

Why did you miss the opportunity, during this next interim phase, to consolidate public sector health financing under the proposed NHI fund?

Russell Rensburg, Programme Manager Health Systems and Policy, Rural Health Advocacy Project

It's not a missed opportunity, remember these are just proposals [for the Bill]. Any member of the public can make proposals about what they want to add in the Act.
