Stressed over fuel price hikes? Here's how you can make your tank last longer

The cost of fuel has risen once again - the second time in two months - to nearly R16 a litre.

But the AA says the following tips can help you stretch your tank that little bit further.

  • Use your vehicle less for shorter trips

  • Consider using public transport to work than your own vehicle

  • Not using air conditioner might save you a bit of fuel

  • Lay of the accelerator a bit (stick to the speed limit)

  • Make sure your vehicle is in good condition, that there are no petrol leaks.

  • Check tyre pressure regularly
