Minister Pandor hopes the BRICS conference will enhance opportunities for SA

Higher Education Minister Naledi Pandor is set to host the Brics Network University Conference at Stellenbosch University starting on Thursday.

Speaking to CapeTalk's Africa Melane, Pandor says she hopes to enhance postgraduate opportunities for South African students in BRICS countries.

She says this is an opportunity to address some of the challenges in postgraduate training.

China is doing an amazing work in Information and Communication Technology and we believe our postgraduate students could benefit in participating in the postgraduate programmes in Chinese universities.

We also believe that Brazil and South Africa could share a long term renewable energy resources on how we address matters of forestry sustainability and how we develop industries that are sustainable and are alert to the impact of climate change in this two countries.
