The Congress of Traditional Leaders of SA (Contralesa) says it agrees with Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) that Section 25 of the Constitution must be amended and that the State must be the custodian of the land.
The organisation and political party held a joint briefing after meeting behind closed doors on Thursday.
Eyewitness News (EWN) reporter Clement Manyathela was at the press conference.
It seems like they have quite a close relationship. They made reference to an announcement that is going to be coming ahead of elections. Does that mean that there could be some kind of partnership between Contralesa and the EFF? We don't know.— Clement Manyathela, EWN political reporter
Contralesa is currently not on good terms with the ANC. That is why this meeting was so important. The president of Contralesa said they have never had the EFF criticise and say negative things about traditional leaders.— Clement Manyathela, EWN political reporter
Malama has apparently defended Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini’s remarks during the land Imbizo on Wednesday, saying his remarks are nothing compared to what white people said during public hearings on land expropriation without compensation.
He says there are white people that have threatened civil war for example. He say she believes that is more provocative compared to what the king said yesterday.— Clement Manyathela, EWN political reporter
