Reach For A Dream celebrates its 30th birthday

July marks the 30th anniversary of Reach for a Dream.

The organisation has spent the last three decades inspiring hope in the lives of children who face life threatening illnesses.

The organisation's chairman Mervyn Serebro says they have fulfilled the dreams of at least 18 000 children.

We have never not fulfilled a dream despite the complexity of some of those dreams and that leaves us with a sense of fulfillment.

Mervyn Serebro, Chairman of Reach for a Dream

Having worked with the organisation over a span of 20 years, Serebro explains how the decision was spurred on by the loss of his own children.

It is a product of having lost two of my own children. I remember the sense of abject hopelessness. You are in hospitals and waiting rooms for weeks on end...

Mervyn Serebro, Chairman of Reach for a Dream

Celebrating 30 years is very astonishing, there are many businesses that don't survive 30 years. We are extremely proud that we have not only survived but we have grown.
