READ:'Eskom cannot afford salary increases'

It proposed this at wage talks with three unions.

They'd rejected Eskom's previous offer of 6.2%.

National Unions of Mineworkers (NUM) spokesperson, Livhuwani Mammburu says he can confirm that Eskom has tabled an offer on Friday afternoon of 6.7% and 6% in the second and third year.

As I speak to you I was in the negotiating room and Eskom has tabled another offer and this is the latest, 7% first year, 6% second year and 6% the third year, that is the latest I can confirm.

Livhuwani Mammburu, NUM spokesperson

He says they are going to go into a caucus as the NUM to see if they can accept the offer or reject it.
