6 explosive devices found may be similar to bomb found in Imam Hussain Mosque

After six explosive devices were planted at key locations around the City of Durban in a matter of days with prominent shopping malls and social events being the apparent targets, the Hawks Crimes Against the State (CATS) have been brought in to trace the suspects behind a string of attacks.

Tiso Blackstar Journalist Jeff Wicks says the situation in Durban is tense, as one would expect.

What we have seen is the discovery of these six devices has sort of bred a culture of fear and apprehension. We had an incident yesterday morning where there was a suspicious device found at the Pavilion Shopping Mall.

That turned out to be a hoax. But I think that speaks to the general sentiment that people are on the edge.

He says to the untrained eye there might not be a link between the devices discovered.

I am not sure if pipe bombs by their very nature are universal in their composition, but there are striking similarities between the device that was found undetonated at the Imam Hussain Mosque in Verulam and the subsequent discoveries at shopping malls, specifically the Pavillion.
