Find out who Zuma's new lawyer is

Former President Jacob Zuma has replaced his long-time attorney Michael Hulley with Lungisani Daniel Mantsha who served as Non-Executive Director and Chairperson of the Denel board until recently.

Mantsha who was appointed by then Public Enterprises Minister Lynne Brown was described by her as “an attorney who has acquired valuable experience over the years in corporate finance, transactional advising, business management, Commercial Law, media and communication law, administrative and constitutional law."

There were however reservations over his appointment because of his past as he was once struck off the roll of lawyers.

In 2007 a court found that he was not a fit and proper person to practise as an attorney after complaints made against him by clients. He was readmitted in 2011.

Eyewitness News reporter Qaanitah Hunter shared details on this, as well as Mantsha's history with the Gupta family.

We know Dan Mantsha was taken to India by the Gupta family, chauffeured around Dubai.

It also emerged last year that he was sending sensitive emails and confidential Denel documents to the Gupta family and that is when they started ventures and other related entities which now the minister of enterprises Pravin Gordhan described as an effort to loot Denel entirely.
