Breakfast Show host Bongani Bingwa says he was asked why the Ingonyama Trust issue matters so much - it's not as if it affects people at the centre of this economy - why play it so much attention, when at best it really is a marginal concern?
Bingwa says according to Professor Steven Friedman, 12 million people live under traditional leaders in the country.
Bingwa also states that this matter is not about land or the people, but about power and political will.
This is not about principle or caring about traditional values or culture.— Bongani Bingwa, Breakfast show host
This is about power and expedience and the poorest of the poor that everyone always swears they care about are the last thing on politicians minds. Because such the power of the Chiefs is such that people will vote according to what pleases them.— Bongani Bingwa, Breakfast show host
That is what this is about. Not culture or land. You can fool some people some time. And if you're really lucky you can fool all the people all the time. Politics 401.— Bongani Bingwa, Breakfast show host
