Absa Bank launched its new look on Wednesday also changing the entire Absa group from being Barclays Africa Limited and will be trading as Absa Bank Limited.
Group marketing head of Absa, David Wingfield says it will take them about two years to complete the whole transition, in 2020.

The point of this journey is that as part of our separation, Barclays did pay an amount of money for us to be able to do this journey and that's how we are funding it.— David Wingfield, Group marketing head of Absa
Wingfield also explained the logo changes and the choice of colours in it.
What we decided to do was we just toned down the colour red. Some of the feedback we got was that our colours were a bit too passionate so we just brought it back.— David Wingfield, Group marketing head of Absa
We actually now call our anchor red, passion red. It is an Absa colour... but we also added different spectrum of red.— David Wingfield, Group marketing head of Absa
