Johannesburg taxi drivers are feeling the pinch.
The JMPD has been continuing with its campaign to impound unroadworthy vehicles and deal with reckless driving.
And it appears many taxi drivers are on the receiving end of Operation Buya Mthetho, especially on Jan Smuts Avenue.
Speaking to Joanne Joseph JMPD spokesperson, Wayne Minnaar says Jan Smuts Avenue has particularly become quite a problem with erratic driving.
We have received many complains of motorists ignoring traffic markings, ignoring red traffic light signals.— Wayne Minnaar, JMPD spokesperson
Just this past weekend a traffic light was knocked over at Bompas and Jan Smuts. So the operation was done there this morning and the focus is not on taxis.— Wayne Minnaar, JMPD spokesperson
