SAA: It is only the shareholder who can make pronouncement on privatisation

SAA spokesperson Tlali Tlali says when Solidarity notified them that they will be initiating a process for a business rescue, they invited them to a meeting.

He says in the meeting they spoke about the issue of privatisation of the airline.

We indicated to them that the shareholder, the board and management had already aligned with that particular issue and the decision is in place already about an intention to explore the possibility of private sector participation.

SAA cannot understand the authority and speak on behalf of its shareholders. We understand that issues around private sector participation or strategic equity partner are within the preview of the shareholder and it is is the shareholder that will speak elaborately on what that process entails.
