Ramaphosa pro-unity even if he is called weak by detractors

EWN reporter Qaanitah Hunter says the President faces a dichotomy between building international strength and local detractors.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has been accused of being weak when dealing with his enemies and voices of dissent.

He has just completed a tour of the Gulf securing 20 Billion USD in investment commitment.

But while he was away, there are appears to be growing dissent with reports that some have been planning to remove him.

EWN Senior Political Reporter, Qaanitah Hunter says the President seems to be very focused in what he says are deliberate efforts to unite the party.

He says that he is considering everyone, even his detractors when making decisions. And he says that he can understand why people are saying to him why didn't you deal with Supra Mahumapelo, why did you delay in dealing with former president Jacob Zuma.

He says he was deliberate. He says even if he is regarded as a weak leader, it doesn't matter particularly because he says he is on a path of forging unity.

She adds that the President faces a dichotomy as he is building economic strength internationally but there are persisting problems back home.

The President said he will unite the ANC and he is not about to come up with an approach where his divisions on party members just because he is president, she adds.
