EFF: Political parties shouldnt get airtime just because they are in Parliament

The Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) has made submissions at the SABC Commission of inquiry into political interference and editorial interference at the state broadcaster.

Our presentation was to speak to the ban that the SABC imposed on the coverage of the EFF in 2014 which was confirmed in a confession by Jimmy Matthews.

Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, National Spokesperson Economic Freedom Fighters

We also took time to make recommendations on the editorial practices of the SABC, exclusively the one that has to do with the differences between advertisement allocation as per Icasa rules.

Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, National Spokesperson Economic Freedom Fighters

Whether a political party gets to be covered in the news or not has nothing to do with the numbers you get in Parliament. It has to do with newsworthiness. You can't be covered barely because you are in Parliament.

Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, National Spokesperson Economic Freedom Fighters

The executive director of the Press Council Joe Thloloe is heading the commission as it looks into these interferences between 2012-2018.
