[LISTEN] Who delivered the best Mandela lecture? Barack Obama or Prof Lumumba

Eusebius McKaiser says although he respects former president Barack Obama he thought Kenyan intellectual Professor Patrick Lumumba delivered the best Mandela Lecture on Tuesday.

Professor Lumumba delivered the lecture at the Walter Sisulu University Mthatha campus and touched on issues of resources in Africa.

Madiba would have asked don't we have cocoa in Ghana? How is it that the cocoa that is made in Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire is then converted into chocolate in Belgium and Switzerland?

Professor Patrick Lumumba

He would have asked, how is it that the tea that's produced in Kenya is then taken to the United Kingdom and upon a little addition is then christened British tea?

Professor Patrick Lumumba

He would have asked, how is it that gold and diamonds that are produced in Africa is traded on the London Stock Exchange?

Professor Patrick Lumumba

McKaiser and callers agreed with most of the points raised by professor Lumumba.

You can internalise professor Lumumba's narrative and take that as inspiration on how to take further Madiba's legacy because the truths are not any less amazing that came out of the mouth of Professor Lumumba.

Eusebius McKasier, Show host

Professor Lumumba's lecture was spot on. He was hitting on the vast points as South Africa's need to question. If we want to do a meaning 67 minutes the government and private sector should unlock more work for small companies that are registered.
