Dis-Chem Foundation has stepped in to assist the Wings of Inspiration Care Centre with supplies worth R10 000 a month as well as other necessities, to support its operations.
The organisation runs four different initiatives including an orphanage and sober home in Johannesburg.
Founding member Kirsten Richardson shares more on the organisation.
We have got an orphanage where we look after 42 children. We have got a play school in Mpumalanga with 36 kids. A soup kitchen where we serve a hundred people food in the evening.— Kirsten Richardson, founder of Wings of Inspiration Care Centre
We have managed to do an orphanage revamp, give our under sixes at the orphanage a nursery school. The rural kids in Mpumalanga, we have managed to get them educated and now speaking English. We have managed to have a lot of success stories in our sober homes where fathers are now able to be reintegrated with their family members and their children.— Kirsten Richardson, founder of Wings of Inspiration Care Centre
Dis-Chem Foundation's Sherry Saltzman says the organisation will also be supplied with food from the Dis-Chem garden.
We are also going to kit you out at your sober house or the school, with a full functioning food garden. We are going to supply with some hot water bottles, electric blankets, scarves....— Sherry Saltzman, Dis-Chem Foundation
