Santaco wants to clamp down on taxi violence and killings

The president of the South African Taxi Council (Santaco) says taxi bosses who are involved in taxi violence should have their operating licences taken away.

11 taxi drivers were gunned down in KwaZulu-Natal over the weekend on their way back to Johannesburg after attending a funeral in Ematimotolo.

We don't know what happened in KZN or what the quarrel was about.

Phillip Taaibosch, President of SANTACO

Taaibosch says they need to go to grassroots level and investigate what happened and make recommendations to the ministers and MECs of transport in both provinces.
