Boeing is booming (763 commercial jets delivered this year, an industry record)

Airliner design is redesigning.

They must of course be bigger, stronger and faster, but also more efficient and comfortable.

The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield interviewed Boeing International Managing Director for Sub-Saharan Africa J Miguel Santos about the science of airliners.

Did you know?

  • Boeing delivered an industry record 763 commercial airplanes in the past financial year. It has produced more airplanes than any other manufacturer for five years in a row.

  • The company has an order backlog of 5864 airplanes (it’ll take seven years to catch up).

  • Boeing’s 737 MAX is the fastest-selling airplane in its history. It has 4300 orders from 92 customers.

  • It estimates the commercial airplane market will grow to around US$2.8 trillion over next 10 years.

  • Boeing expects an airplane market of 42 700 units over the next two decades.
