GP Premier visits Hammanskraal to deal with water issues

Gauteng Premier David Makhura paid a visit on Wednesday to the Hammanskraal purification plant in Tswhane.

The community is currently in the grip of a water crisis as the residents have alleged that the Tshwane metro has failed provide them with clean water and administer measures aimed at ensuring that their right to water is realised.

The South African Human Rights Commission recently found the city council to have violated the rights of the Temba community.

EWN reporter, Phelane Phakgadi says the Premier started his visit at the regional Tshwane offices in Temba where he was briefed as to the concerns of the community.

He went to the water purification facilities, he got to see the water purification process is and if there are any cliches that government can do to correct so that the water that people get in their taps is clean.
