[WATCH] Swedish student's protest on plane stops man's deportation

Asylum activist Elin Errson remained standing on a plane in Gothenburg to prevent it taking off with an asylum seeker back to Afghanistan.

She began live streaming her video and soon it had millions of views.

She stood bravely despite crew trying to take away her phone, and filmed herself standing on the plane. A plane may not take off while a passenger is standing.

She made it clear that the man likely faced death if he was forced to return from Gothenburg to Afghanistan and she was going to ensure that did not happen.

She faced both criticism and support from passengers but stood firm.

Eventually her tenacity paid off and she succeeded as the 52-yer-old man was taken off the plane and was not deported.
