Title deeds an alternative to land expropriation?

Land hearings have kicked off in Gauteng, with Westonaria residents having their say on land expropriation without compensation.

Parliament's Constitutional Review Committee has been to various other provinces where people have shared their grievances.

Eyewitness News reporter, Kgomotso Modise is on the story.

Some important factors that came up today... a number of people have spoken around residential land and land for their businesses. This is a big mining area, so that has been the crux of people's debates, saying that they want the land to advance themselves economically.

Kgomotso Modise, EWN reporter

Issue of title deeds also coming up here. The issue seems to be an alternative presented by those who do not want land to be expropriated without compensation.
