'There is no crisis at NSFAS'

With just three years at the helm of the National Students' Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS), Sizwe Nxasana has resigned as the chairperson of the scheme.

Nxasana steps down at a time when NSFAS is facing challenges relating to the allocation of allowances to students and payments backlogs from 2017 and 2018.

He is satisfied that maybe he has done so much in putting us at a level where we are at the moment.

As far as we are concerned as the Department of Higher Education, there is no crisis at NSFAS because we have a large majority of students we are deserving and getting NSFAS but even if its one student who is not getting funding like they are supposed to, it is a matter of concern to minister Pandor.
