Pistorius post-verdict reveal, Russia-SA nuclear deal - Today's Big 3

Earlier on 702's John Robbie Show EWN Senior Correspondent Barry Bateman revealed new details that Oscar Pistorius had in fact spoken to ex-girlfriend Jenna Edkins on the eve of his shooting of Reeva Steenkamp. Bateman also revealed that Pistorius's older brother Carl Pistorius had tampered with the athlete's phone, deleting and synching text messages along with Whatsapp messages to his computer. These are revelations contained in Bateman and his EWN colleague Mandy Wiener's new book on the Oscar Pistorius murder trial entitled Behind the Door: The Oscar Pistorius and Reeva Steenkamp Story.

Following questions and reaction from callers as to why Wiener, Bateman and the EWN collective hadn't revealed this information during the trial, Redi Tlhabi invited EWN Editor-In-Chief, Katy Katopodis who said:

It (the information) was given to the prosecution. In fact, as our reporters Mandy Wiener and Barry Bateman were made aware of this information, they called the prosecution and passed it on to them.

Meanwhile the Deputy-Director General of Nuclear Power in the National Department of Energy, Zizamele Mbambo has assured South Africans that everything is above-board in the Russia-South Africa $50-billion nuclear power deal. Mbambo has noted various countries will be signing intergovernmental agreements, including one with China in November and more with China, Japan, South Korea and the US.
