[Listen] Good Samaritan recounts saving cyclist shot with several bullet wounds

A 51-year-old cyclist was shot several times on Saturday while cycling near the Letamo Estate in Kromdraai in Gauteng.

He was airlifted after paramedics responded to the shooting.

Jon-Jon Pietersen was the first to arrive at the scene and gives an account of what he saw.

I was driving with my friend and we are looking for hiking spots then we heard a man screaming 'help, help' and I stopped the car and jumped out.

The first thing that went through my mind, I'm not going to lie is; is this a trap? because of these things happen and I saw a guy pull over behind us and I said okay in case something happens, I have to help.

I ran over to Jim and I noticed that his shoes were gone, his leg was bleeding and I applied pressure with my foot.

Security company owner Trevor Roberts says they are working on intensifying security around the area.
