Amcu President Joseph Mathunjwa's makes a bold statement and callers on the Eusebius McKaiser Show reflect on Marikana.

Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (Amcu) President Joseph Mathunjwa at the 6 year anniversary of the Marikana massacre commemoration event said the revolution is imminent.

I am telling you, we will never fail, we will give you twelve months with these mines not working, the revolution is imminent.

Joseph Mathunjwa, President of Amcu

READ: 'Six years on...Surely there can be no closure if no-one is punished?'

Mathunjwa was delivering the keynote speech at the Marikana commemoration event where thousands of miners gathered to remember the 34 miners who were gunned down by police on this day in 2012.

Callers on the Eusebius McKaiser Show on the open line weighed in on Mathunjwa's stance about the revolution.

William, a caller, says Mathunjwa's rhetoric was a fact as he addressed issues that affected South Africans.

The revolution that he mentioned, was it a revolution of the communists or whatever, the answer is no, not the one of fighting.

William, caller

But which revolution was he referring to, he was referring to the one that the masses in their numbers as represented by those who managed to be there and those who were there to listen to him at that particular point?

William, caller

William adds that come 2019 elections, the masses will be the same ones who will go to the ballot boxes and remove the problem that people are experiencing.

Another caller, Lehlohonolo says the revolution started five years ago, and it was turning five this year.

That is the revolution my brother; we are going to punish the African National Congress (ANC) come 2019.

Lehlohonolo, caller

We want to make sure that we punish people for all those years that they had punished the black masses.

Lehlohonolo, caller

Listen below and hear what else listeners had to say on the open line...
