Ipsos poll show uncertainty for ANC, but Ramaphosa still ranks highest

South Africans have rated President Cyril Ramaphosa higher than any other political leader in the country.

Market research firm Ipsos released their latest report over the weekend.

A total of 3619 randomly selected South Africans were interviewed face-to-face in their homes and in their home languages by trained interviewers.

However, more than half of South Africans say that the future of the ANC is uncertain because of leadership within the party.

Spaking to Clement Manyathela on The Midday Report, Ipsos Political Analyst Mari Harris says South Africans do not think that he has done poorly at all.

I also think that this rating that we have for Cyril Ramaphosa, a 7-point-3 is saying quite firmly to the president...you have our support.

Mari Harris, Ipsos political analyst

It's saying, 'now take away this uncertainty and do something about all the leadership issues that are still lingering.'
