If you switch on to channel 405 on DStv, you will see that the channel formally known as ANN7 is no more.
It stopped airing last night.
MultiChoice says details about the new channel will be shared on the 28 August, but the worrying thing here is that there about 350 workers who are left in limbo.
Staff don't know what will be happening next, and the channel's management has told them not to return to work until further notice.
Mzwanele Manyi tried to rebrand the channel to build trust in his media empire, but also to try and change the perception about the then ANN7.
Speaking to Clement Manyathela on The Midday Report, Secretary at Communications Workers Union (CWU) Thami Mzileni says they have engaged MultiChoice and AfroWorld.
In our discussions, I can safely say that workers will get paid at the end of the month.— Thami Mzileni, Secretary at CWU
The union is hoping these workers will be taken on by the new channel.
While the engagements are still ongoing, and whoever gets the licence to come in when MultiChoice announces next week, these workers get absorbed into the new station.— Thami Mzileni, Secretary at CWU
