Former Steinhoff CEO, Marcus Jooste and CFO, Ben La Grange will be summoned to appear before the Standing Committee on Finance.
They will be expected to give insight into what may have led to the sudden collapse of Steinhoff's share price last year.
Financial writer James-Brent Styan says the reason Jooste hasn't appeared before Parliament is that he says he resigned from the company and therefore is not the right person to answer questions about Steinhoff.
I am putting my head on the block that Jooste won't go and even Ben La Grange won't be going either, even though they have been summoned. The question is what is Parliament going to do about it.— James-Brent Styan, Financial writer
Even Dudu Myeni was summoned a year ago and there was even a warrant of arrest out and that's been about half a year already and nothing happened.— James-Brent Styan, Financial writer
Styan says he thinks La Grange and Jooste have super legal teams on their side and will be ready to battle this out in court.
