ANC Mpumalanga members hand over memorandum citing bogus branches
Several African National Congress (ANC) members from Mpumalanga are marching to Luthuli House.
They are calling for the disbanding of the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) in their province.
Speaking to Clement Manyathela on The Midday Report, an ANC member leading the march to Luthuli House, Jealous Nyalunga says they are here to submit a memorandum to the ANC National Executive Committee (NEC).
To demand that the PEC of Mpumalanga be disbanded on the basis that we have been complaining about bogus branches in the ANC in Mpumalanga.Jealous Nyalunga, ANC member leading the march to Luthuli House
The constitution of the ANC rule 23.3 states that the ANC is a one ward one branch base. In Mpumalanga where there is one ward, you will find that there are five branches which have executive powers which attended conferences.Jealous Nyalunga, ANC member leading the march to Luthuli House
On that basis, we are saying the PEC was elected illegitimately and unconstitutional branches attended the provincial conference.Jealous Nyalunga, ANC member leading the march to Luthuli House
ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe also spoke to Manyathela and acknowledged the receipt of the memorandum.
We have co-signed on the memorandum and we will accordingly convey the grievances they have made to the national leadership of the ANC.Pule Mabe, ANC spokesperson
