The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield interviews Times Live journalist Karyn Maughan.

The problem remains, until people are prosecuted… ordinary South Africans will say ‘So what? We knew this stuff’…

Karyn Maughan, Times Live

Either these people are all pathological liars or psychopaths or there’s an element of truth to what they’re saying.

Karyn Maughan, Times Live

The state capture commission of inquiry - led by Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo - is underway.

A picture is starting to form of endemic corruption and abuse of state power.

On Wednesday former government spokesperson Themba Maseko said that many public servants with information relevant the inquiry is too afraid to appear.

He testified that the Guptas – with the help of former President Jacob Zuma – tried to force him to redirect R600 million of Government advertising to the New Age newspaper.

The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield interviewed Times Live journalist Karyn Maughan.

Maughan spoke about the five biggest revelations of the state capture commission of inquiry so far.

Listen to the interview in the audio below (and/or scroll down for more quotes from it).

These are private individuals [Guptas] who essentially did the work of Government… truly astounding stuff!

This issue of the nuke deal… we’ve never really got a big picture sense…

Jonas was told by the Guptas that they are in control of everything… the idea that the NPA was used… to protect political friends…

A lot of reporters are conscious of a pushback [by so-called Gupta bots on Twitter]…
