CEO at Altron Mteto Nyati says that global business investments can save SA

In the profile interview, CEO at Altron, Mteto Nyati shares his views of Cyril Ramaphosa, and chats about his role at Altron.

Nyati says that his been the CEO at Altron for 18 months now.

What attracted me to the role was the complex and challenging aspect of running the company he adds.

I was approached for the role of CEO at Alton when I was running MTN South Africa says Nyati.

Initially, I had said no, but when I reflected on it, I thought that this was a great opportunity he adds.

Nyati says that working at Alton was a great opportunity to fix a business that has been going in the wrong direction.

Typically, black people are associated with creating a mess but here I was, being asked to fix a mess which was not created by people like us says Nyati.

Nyati adds that Cyril Ramaphosa has made it clear that he was going to deal with some of the challenges the country is facing economically.

You can clearly see what he's doing around corruption, and the work that he has done in the State owned enterprises.

Nyati says that he is concerned that Ramaphosa has not go far in implementing certain changes.

We know that there's people who've been implicated, and are still Ministers in Ramaphosa's new cabinet says Nyati.

He adds that it's concerning because of the mixed signals.

You need to be careful, as a leader, to send mixed messages. My concern about the people that you surround yourself with... That is sending a message to us as citizens.
