Kya Sands community threatens land grab within 14 days if demands not met

The community of Kya Sands took to the streets on Monday protesting against lack of service delivery and housing.

Protesters interrupted the flow of traffic along Malibongwe Drive in Johannesburg marching to Lanseria International Airport to hand over a memorandum to businesses in the area.

Kya Sands Community Leader, Billy Modikwe says they will be handing over their 5th memorandum to Gauteng Human Settlements MEC Uhuru Moiloa which they are accusing of being ignorant of their demands.

Our ward is the biggest and poorest ward with lots of informal settlements and our community members are not working.

Right now we are demanding answers and we need a time frame regarding the Lion Park Development.
