Department of Water and Sanitation swimming in debt left by Nomvula Mokonyane

The Department of Water and Sanitation apparently has no money.

It has asked Parliament to adjust its 2018/19 budget so it can meet 46% of promises made for this financial year.

Speaking to John Maytham, Eyewitness News reporter Lindsay Dentlinger says this is the first time she has heard of a Department asking Parliament to revise what they said they will do.

They are spending all this money mopping up Nomvula Mokonyane's past. All this debt that they have accrued, starting this year alone with R2 billion that they need to pay bills.
