A caller on The Eusebius McKaiser Show discusses what it means to give consent enthusiastically.
Justice says he is trying to get answers from the listeners about enthusiastic consent when it comes to sex.
I have come to hear of this concept that for sexual intercourse to take place, the woman must have enthusiastically said yes or consented in one way or another.
— Justice, caller
The dilemma that I have is that, is there any room for persuasion when it comes to sex?
— Justice, caller
If she starts by saying no, is there no room whatsoever to say please? That is the dilemma that I have.
— Justice, caller
He adds that he is not trying to be funny, he is just trying to understand so that he avoids being a potential rapist.
Is there room for persuasion or the moment she says no, do I just leave the room?
— Justice, caller
Trevor another caller says in his mind it is very simple and there is no ambiguity there.
There is no ambiguity where the line can be drawn because as long as you use words to try and persuade the other person, that is totally acceptable.
— Trevor, caller
But once you start using physical force, then we have a problem. So to me, there is no ambiguity there at all.
