Study shows growing incidence of heart diseases in stay-at-home dads

On the #WeekendBreakfast with Africa Melane, Spokesperson for Pharma, Nicole Jennings, chats about the physical and emotional impact of societal pressure on stay-at-home dads.

Recently, the American Institute for Health found that there's a growing incidence of heart disease in stay-at-home dads dads says Jennings.

The study was conducted among 3800 men, and the Institute looked at the impact of their occupation on their heart adds Jennings.

Jennings says that sociological pressure is one of the main drivers behind this phenomenon.

As we go through the gender transition with more women entering the workplace, and men taking on the traditional role of caregiver. Women have had a lot of support!

The same activism present for women, is not experienced by men says Jennings.

She adds that stay-at-home dads face a lot of stigma due to social norms surrounding the role of caregiver.
