11 Joburg government buildings closed down after fire

After the death of three fighters who died in a blaze at the Gauteng Health Department in the Johannesburg CBD, there have been questions on how the city's productivity has been affected.

Speaking to Xolani Gwala, EWN reporter Mia Lindeque says there is a bit of mixed information coming from government as compared to what the unions are saying.

I understand from the government, the official word says that 11 government buildings have now been closed down because they appeared on that non-compliance list.

She adds that this means those staff members were not allowed to go back to these buildings.

There are reports of employees working from home, reports Lindeque.
