Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) is taking Sibanye Stillwater, Platinum Gold to the CCMA over job losses amongst other issues.
The union is also planning on obtaining a certificate to strike.

From their side, they have concluded everything, so we are just debating some things with the Competition Commission to say they must have some undertaking because they are promising that 12 500 jobs will be shed because of the take over by Sibanye.— Joseph Mathunjwa, AMCU President
With three mines we have declared a dispute with the CCMA. Tomorrow we will be in a conciliation of which, if we fail, there it will be a strike. It will be a protected strike.— Joseph Mathunjwa, AMCU President
