My father's memory lives on 41 years later, says Biko's son

The memory of Steve Bantu Biko is alive throughout South Africa even 41 years after his death, says Nkosinathi Biko, Trustee and founder of the Steve Biko Foundation.

Biko died in police custody in 1977 after being in the forefront of the anti-apartheid campaign known as the Black Consciousness Movement.

Nkosinathi Biko says the memory of Steve Biko is at play within the political formation and it stretches well beyond the realms of politics and civil society.

41 years later we're still inspired by him. He seems to have made the correct choices with his life, a life of significance.
