'This idea that the state capture is a myth, really? Where does Zuma get off?'

State Capture

Eusebius McKaiser says he doesn't believe that Jacob Zuma doesn't know what state capture is.

Former president Jacob Zuma, speaking to students at the Walter Sisulu University in the Eastern Cape on Wednesday asks whether the state is captured?

READ: Zuma says state capture is "a politically decorated expression"

'We have a commission that is sitting investigating the state capture. Is the state captured? Huh?'

Jacob Zuma, Former President

Eusebius McKaiser says he doesn't understand why Zuma can't just leave the country alone and crawl into the nearest ditch.

But that would require you to have a sense of shame about what you had done, so I suppose if you are shameless, then you will continue to try and hog the mic because you don't have any moral compass or any sense of being ashamed of what you have done.

Eusebius McKaiser, Show Host.

When you were pissing on the Constitution of the country. How do you engage someone like that?

Eusebius McKaiser, Show Host.

I can't believe that the ANC gifted us Jacob Zuma in the first place. It's not as if they didn't know what this man was about.

Eusebius McKaiser, Show Host.

He adds that he hopes that the ANC pays dearly for what they have done to the country.

This idea that the state capture is a myth, I mean really? Where does Jacob Zuma get off?

Eusebius McKaiser, Show Host.

He adds that a couple of months ago, he discussed a philosophical essay that was useful in discussing Donald Trump.

I am not about the quote of the title of the essay, one of the best philosophers in the world, is a chap by the name of Harry Frankfurt and he has written a classic which has become very useful for us political analyst now.

Eusebius McKaiser, Show Host.

And it wasn't his intention that it should be used for political commentary, but it gives us some interesting insight to some politicians.

Eusebius McKaiser, Show Host.

And the title of the essay by Harry Frankfurt is on bullshit. And so what we then do as political commentators, is we draw a distinction between liers and there are people who bullshit.

Eusebius McKaiser, Show Host.

We draw a distinction between the two. You see people who lie, including you and I, we know that it is bad.

Eusebius McKaiser, Show Host.

He says people like Donald Trump and Jacob Zuma are not liers, they are bullshitters.

Donald Trump and Jacob Zuma are worse than liers, they are what philosopher Harry Frankfurt has in mind when he talks about bullshitting.

Eusebius McKaiser, Show Host.

Which is a very different philosophical concept from the concept of lying.

Eusebius McKaiser, Show Host.

He adds that the characteristics of a bullshitter is someone who just wants to say stuff to try and bring about a certain result and they don't value the truth at all.
