Concourt ruling on cannabis needs to filter down to cops, says dagga couple

The so-called dagga couple, Myrtle Clark and Julian Stobbs, says they are happy withe ruling by the Constitutional Court.

The ConCourt has upheld the Western Cape High Court ruling that the private use of dagga is legal.

Clarke and Stobbs were instrumental in that ruling, which states that the possession, cultivation and use of dagga for private use is allowed in South Africa.

Parliament has 24 months to redefine certain sections of the law so that they decriminalise private dagga usage.
