Total Shutdown planned in Reiger Park

There has been a proposed 'total shutdown' in Reiger Park in Ekhurhuleni due to a number of complaints made by residents.

The complaints stem from issues of crime, service delivery and the repeated power outages in the area.

Speaking to Bongani Bingwa, City of Ekurhuleni MMC of Human Settlements Lesiba Mpya says cable theft is also a problem in the Reiger Park area.

We are working day and night to ensure the perpetrators are bought to book, but if we don't have a collaborated effort it becomes difficult. We are making appeals to the communities to help us.

He adds that the problem is also that power outages in the area are happening on regular basis.

We are on top of the issue in terms of coming up with solutions.
