The country got a glimpse into Zondo's integrity and financial struggles to get to where he is today in a 2017 interview.

Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo has been in the spotlight for nearly two months as he heads up the State of Capture commission.

The commission is looking into allegations of State Capture given the extent of corruption in recent years.

To date, the commission has heard testimonies from former government employees like Mcebisi Jonas who testified that he was offered R600 million by the controversial Gupta family to take up the portfolio of Minister of Finance.

The commission also heard startling testimonies from former GCIS head Themba Maseko and Vytjie Mentor about their encounter with the Gupta family.

The four big banks in the country also told the commission why they closed the families bank accounts.

Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo has given the Hawks the green light to access the Gupta Leaks emails by receiving them into evidence at the State Capture commission.

This week the commission heard testimonies from two whistleblowers who were behind the Gupta leaks and how they obtained three hard drives from Gupta-owned company Sahara computers.

The drives contain sensitive correspondence between the Gupta family, their associates and government officials.

With regards to everything else that has been analysed, at least its relevance may be clear and the evidence that has not been analysed, some of it is probably relevant and some of it may not be relevant.
