[LISTEN] Judge Kroon recants ruling that 'rogue unit' was unlawful

Judge Frank Kroon has testified at the Nugent commission of Inquiry in Pretoria.

The former head of the Sars advisory board has recanted an initial finding that the investigation unit within the revenue service’s so-called rogue unit was established and operating unlawfully.

The judge acknowledged that the board which he led blindly endorsed the Sikhakhane Report.

Eyewitness News reporter Barry Bateman has more on the story.

The judge saying simply in hindsight, in having reviewed the evidence again, we find that the establishment of this investigations unit, as well as the conduct of its members was not unflawful.
