The Sars lawsuit was hard on me and my family - Adrian Lackay

Suspended Sars Commissioner Tom Moyane and Sars have dropped a three-year-long civil action with former spokesperson at Sars Adrian Lackay.

Back in 2015, Moyane slapped Lackay with a R12 million civil suit after he claimed Moyane was on a sustained campaign to destabilise Sars.

Lackey says he is relieved now that Moyane has dropped the lawsuit because it was hard on him and his family.

We still have a lot of work to do to fix the damage that occurred over a five year period.

Lackay says he received a lot of support from his family who were there for him from the beginning as well as his former Sars colleagues, including former Sars commissioner Pravin Gordhan.

Lackay is currently the spokesperson at the Department of Public Enterprise working closely with Minister Gordhan.

Moyane and Sars will also pay for all legal costs involved in this matter.
