[LISTEN] 'Is Ramaphosa willing to invest political capital to fix the NW ANC?'

On Monday, the African National Congress (ANC) in the North West confirmed ANC provincial spokesperson Supra Mahumapelo has decided to withdraw from the provincial task team (PTT).

The task team was established last month, to consult widely to unite the organisation ahead of the 2019 elections. This after the ANC disbanded the provincial leadership.

The North West was placed under administration in May after public unrest over the leadership of the former premier.

Karima Brown spoke to Public Policy Specialist TK Pooe on this latest development and what it means for the party.

TK Pooe, Public Policy Specialist

He should not really have to be with someone like Supra Mahumapelo who though he might be a political heavy weight in his province, it is a political heavy weight which has been manufactured by basic neglect of the ANC and I think the president should have done a better job and done an audit to say how deep is the rot...
