Tito Mboweni is South Africa’s new Minister of Finance.

He is a former Reserve Bank Governor and replaces Nhlanhla Nene after his testimony at the state capture commission of inquiry.

Nene on Friday apologised for meeting the Guptas at their home and business premises, despite earlier claiming he only met the disgraced family at public gatherings.

Nene purportedly asked President Cyril Ramaphosa to relieve him of his duties.
