Pik Botha 'passed away peacefully' says son

Condolences continue to pour in for Apartheid-era Foreign Affairs Minister Pik Botha.

Botha passed away at the age of 86 at a hospital in Pretoria on Thursday night.

His eldest son, Dr Roelof Botha spoke to Xolanai Gwala and says his father was delighted when Cyril Ramaphosa won the ANC elective conference in December.

All I know is that he passed away peacefully. He had been suffering a lot these couple of weeks we suspect organ failure.
